If inconvenient, come all the same.”

“Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.

Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.”

choose a different future, or a different past."

~ Richard Bach
I live in  suburbia.  From crescent to cul-de-sac,  row upon row, there are dwellings in fifty different shades of taupe.  There are lighter taupe ones and darker taupe ones.  Some mix it up with a different taupe for the trim or stone.

Even the walls inside have been safely painted taupe.  There is no bold red wall on which to perpetually contemplate:  should I have gone with leaf green or maybe a cobalt blue?

Taupe is comfortable; taupe is neutral.  'Neutral' is suburbian for no regrets.
